It Came Upon a Midnight Clear

I was determined to upload our Christmas pictures before tax season began. With just over a week to go, I made it! Skye rec'd books 2 & 3 to her favorite series, then finished reading them both in less than a week...
Reiley splayed out Christmas morn...
Ladies in blue...
The perpetual playing of Mario Kart...
LOVE this one...
It took me two hours to get this dang post completed because I came across old pictures like this...
and this...
and it made me remember the good ole days of being a mom and nothing else. Ah, those were the days.

Backstage at The Nutcracker!

Here we are all dolled up and ready for a night on the town!
One of the Principals in the Houston Ballet Company, Sara Webb (who is amazingly graceful and looks like the ballerina on a music box), is in Mom's church ward. She was also Skye's Young Women leader when we lived with mom. Anywho...she met us after the show and took us backstage for an up and close look at the props and the stage! The girls were totally delighted. Sara even gave Michaela a pair of her worn ballet slippers!
Here's Michaela in the Snow Queen's sleigh...
Michaela, Sara, and Skye... Sara played the Sugar Plum Fairy last night.
Michaela also scored a few of the dancer's autographs. Here she is with First Soloist, Kelly Myernick...
Skye in the throne where Clara watched the Sugar Plum Fairy and her entertainers dance...
Skye on stage. If I knew how to work my camera I probably wouldn't get pictures like this. But it's a cool shot anyway despite the shakiness. The girls and I with a very cool statue downtown...
This night was the greatest way to kick off the Christmas season!

As American As...

Apple Pie!

Thanksgiving was fabtabulous this year. After a dozen or so Thanksgiving dinners I guess the time comes when you feel like you've finally got it down. Even the pie was perfect.

All Dressed Up with Many Places To Go!

This year we had a Butterfly Ballerina and Minnie Mouse...
And a um, scary face?
Skye's Sunday Schhol class was in charge of face painting at the church's trunk or treat. Reiley actually let her paint her face, then immediately wanted to touch it so she smeared her pretty flower all over her face and her hand. I just noticed the grip she had on Reiley's head. Maybe that's why Reiley sat so still! Ha!
