She's A Sure Shot

Now that Nadja is 11, I figured it was time to officially dub her in to young womanhood--Packer style. My mom and I took her to the shooting range yesterday. She was amazing! After one short lesson on gun safety and proper technique in the lobby, she was ready. I told her to aim for his chest, but she thought it would be better to aim for the "bullseye"-the guy's gun barrel. As you can tell, she was pretty close! For those of you in the know-she used a 9mm Glock.

This was the very first shot she fired.

WOW! I'm a ninny when it comes to guns. I'd be a member of NRA if it weren't for the loud, startling noises guns make when the trigger is pulled. Way to go, Nadja!

I think this is great! The state of Wyoming offers a gun safety and marksmanship course that is required for graduation. My plan is to work on those skills in Michigan too. I consider it to be just as valuable as learning how to swim and drive a manual transmission. I don't want my daughters to be like one of those pathetic winey drama girls from the movies that can't function, that's for sure. Helena and Johanna are looking forward to it! Great job Nadja!

Great SHOT! When I took Hunter's safety in UT out of over 100 people I scored the best on the test but barely passed the shooting test (I think they let me pass out of pitty).
