Another successful family reunion in North Carolina has come and gone signaling the end of summer. I can't believe school starts in only 3 more weeks!I took this picture b/c I thought it was funny that so many family members were standing the same way. I later found out it was a shark they were all staring at. We saw 2 this year very close to shore!
On the way home, we saw a sign for Dunn's Falls in Mississippi and decided to go see what it was all about. We were glad we did! It was a beautiful waterfall that led to a river calm enough for swimming.
This was on the way TO The Beach. We stayed in a hotel just on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River.
Both girls tried kayaking for the first time this year, both with my cousin, Walter. This is Nadja heading out. They flipped on the way back in, which was Nadja's first "near-death" experience of the trip. Really, she was fine...just a little scared of the sharks.
Here's Michaela's turn at kayaking. Again with cousin Walter, and also Skye (my cousin Eliza's oldest).
Nadja was a pro body boarder this year!
Michaela learned to board also and caught a few great little waves!
